A festival of Chinese films has been organized by the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMCA) in Iran, organizers say.
A lineup of six movies will be screened at the event titled Chinese Film Week, the TMCA announced on Sunday – the day of the opening event.
Among films to be shown are ‘The Grandmaster’ by Wong Kar-wai, ‘The Taking of Tiger Mountain’ by Tsui Hark and ‘The Piano in a Factory’ by Meng Zhang.
Other films to be featured include ‘Wolf Totem’ by Jean-Jacques Annaud, ‘Confucius’ by Hu Mei and ‘Under the Hawthorn Tree’ by Zhang Yimou.
The museum has collaborated with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Tehran to bring this six-day special feature to the public.
Chinese Ambassador Pang Sen and a number of Iranian cultural officials as well as artists attended the opening ceremony.
